Freeware is copyrighted computer software which is made available for use free of charge, for an unlimited time, as opposed to shareware where the user is required to pay (e.g. after some trial period or for additional functionality). The license may be "free for personal, non-commercial use." Everything created with the freeware programs can be distributed at no cost (for example graphic, documents, or sounds made by user). DirectX 9.0c October 2006

Microsoft DirectX is a group of technologies designed to make Windows-based computers an ideal platform for running and displaying applications rich in multimedia elements such as full-color graphics, video, 3D animation, and rich audio. DirectX 9.0c includes support for Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader 3.0, along with many new features across all technologies, which can be accessed by applications using the DirectX 9.0 APIs. This download provides the DirectX 9.0c end-user redistributable that developers may include with their products. The redistributable license agreement covers the terms under which developers may use the redistributable.

This version of DirectX 9.0c is for Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP. DirectX 9.0c will not run on Windows 95. The DirectX 9.0c runtime cannot be uninstalled. It is recommended that Windows Me and Windows XP users create a ´system restore´ point before installing.
